Dr. Mark Sheridan was appointed Vice Provost for Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs and Dean of the Graduate School at Texas Tech University (TTU) on November 22, 2013. In this role he provides overall leadership to the Division of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs, including academic leadership of all of the university's interdisciplinary graduate programs, and coordination of graduate and postdoctoral education with the research and other academic activities of TTU. Rob Stewart, Ed.D.

Rob Stewart, Senior Vice Provost, TTU

Rob Stewart currently serves as Senior Vice Provost of Texas Tech University with oversight responsibilities for areas in support of academic programs, faculty advancement, and student matriculation. He previously served for 11 years as an associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences. He is a Professor in the Department of Communication Studies where he began as a new assistant professor at Texas Tech in 1984. He was chair of the Communication Studies department for three years before entering the dean's office. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in interpersonal communication, public speaking, communication theory, and communication research methods.

Dawn Payne, J.D.

Assistant Vice Chancellor and Director of the TTU Office of Equal Opportunity

Dawn Payne

Dawn Payne is the Assistant Vice Chancellor and Director of the Office of Equal Opportunity, joining this office in 2011. In this role, Payne investigates complaints of discrimination and harassment, responds on behalf of the component institutions to complaints filed with external agencies, and advises administrators and managers on employment law matters and personnel issues. Payne received her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech University School of Law. She has 16 years of litigation and employment law experience. Prior to earning her law degree, Payne worked as a broadcast journalist and in the marketing and advertising industry.

Michelle Pearson

Dr. Michelle Pearson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Design, Texas Tech University. She earned her Master of Science in Environmental Design and Doctor of Philosophy in Interior Environmental Design from Texas Tech University. Michelle Pearson's research interests focus designing for health and wellness, specifically for children. Some of her current research projects include the role of positive distractions in pediatric healthcare spaces, an examination of virtual classroom environments for children with autism and the design and research of a Malawian Early Childhood Development Center. Mike Lemon, Ph.D.

Instructional Development Coordinator Lecturer - Graduate School

Mike Lemon

Mike Lemon is the Graduate School's Instructional Development Coordinator and a Lecturer in the Interdisciplinary Studies Program. As a teacher-scholar, he is committed to helping graduate students gain confidence in the classroom. He regularly presents professional development workshops on active learning strategies, critical thinking, teaching philosophies, and preparing for the academic job market. His scholarly research investigates race, gender, and space in American culture. He has forthcoming articles and book chapters on The Squatter and the Don, Iola Leroy, the Netflix Punisher series, and Lobo. He has taught graduate courses in interdisciplinary studies, and undergraduate courses in first-year writing, technical writing, and American literature.

Jennifer Marciniak, Ph.D.

Director - Graduate Writing Center

Jennifer Marciniak

Dr. Jennifer Marciniak is the Director of the Graduate Writing Center at Texas Tech. She is a first-generation college student and a native South Texan from the Corpus Christi area.  Her PhD is in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Louisville where her dissertation research focused in literacy sponsorship and labor education in the South Texas oilfield. She has worked as a writing center director since 2014 at Berea College, in Berea, KY, and Southwestern University, in Georgetown, TX, before joining the Writing Centers of Texas Tech in 2021.

Raquel Iber

Raquel Iber

Raquel comes to Student Disability Services after spending 17 years in elementary classrooms. She has taught in both public and private schools, primarily as a second grade teacher. She is passionate about education and helping students achieve their educational goals. Raquel has a bachelors degree in psychology from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Raquel enjoys reading, spending time with her family, going for walks, and watching Turner Classic movies.

Dr. David Roach, is a former Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Arts and Sciences. Serving in this role for 14 years, he worked closely with curriculum, program assessment, accreditation, Coordinating Board, and core curriculum matters in the college. He also worked with College of Arts & Sciences scholarships, course enrollments, course fees, catalog copy, emergency planning, and interdisciplinary programs.  Before serving as an Associate Dean, Roach served for 10 years as the Chair of the Communication Studies Department.
