Former Professor of Philosophy & Former Acting Chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities

The Institute for the Study of Western Civilization hosted a lecture on "God and Western Civilization" by former Professor of Philosophy Dr. Jerry L. Martin. Modern science has left us with an idea of truth that is almost entirely quantitative and mechanical. This allows little to no room for qualitative aspects such as the spiritual, artistic, or the quest for a higher purpose. Dr. Martin will discuss this decay of inspiration and what we should try to do to reverse it.
