Professor Meek presented a lecture of the mathematics of scales and intervals, demonstrating the makeup of various sounds and how the overtone structures make performance practice either easier or more difficult. Examples were shown using various instruments and sound analysis, including vocal overtones demonstrated by Stuart Hinds.
