Food safety is a concern as each year an estimated 76 million people will contract a food-borne illness and 5,000 will die. This website was created to increase awareness of food safety issues in the food industry and to educate and inform consumers about how to handle food safely. Foods can make you sick, but the risk can be greatly reduced if consumer and industry work together to handle products appropriately. Food is nothing to be afraid of, if you know the facts !
