Pendleton-Rogers Endowed Scholarship

Established in 1985 by Mr. and Mrs. Donald T. Pendleton and awarded annually to students majoring in Range Management.

The Pendleton-Rogers Endowed Scholarship was established in 1985 by Mr. and Mrs. Donald T. Pendleton of Herndon, Virginia. The Pendleton's subsequently relocated to a family owned ranch near Caddo, Texas where Don still lives and ranches. Subsequent donations have come over the years and the endowment continues to grow.

Mrs. Pendleton (Bettejoe Rogers) was born on January 6, 1937 and died January 25, 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Bernice Rogers and a brother Sammy Rogers. The Pendleton's did not have any children. Bettejoe's will leaves a substantial portion of her community property estate to further support this scholarship endowment. Also generously named in her will are Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas; Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas; the Society for Range Management; the Texas Section of the Society for Range Management; and St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Breckenridge, Texas.
