National Endowment for the Humanities
Friday, April 6, 2018
Texas Tech University
Faculty Senate Room, Student Union Building
9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

8:45-9:00 coffee
9:00-10:30 overview of the NEH and its many opportunities
10:30-10:45 coffee break
10:45-12:15 mock panel

During the mock panel, four panelists—comprising scholars from four different departments at Texas Tech and at differing career levels—will share their comments on three sample proposals. Audience members may read the proposals in advance and will be invited to share their responses during the conversation. The goal of the mock panel is twofold: 1) to demystify the evaluation process so that workshop participants understand how their applications will be reviewed; and 2) to use panelists' observations on the sample applications to illustrate application-writing strategies that work and don't work.

You may download the sample proposals here: TTU Mock Panel Packet
