For Student Engagement, student employment is all about "learning while earning" and empowering students to pursue and succeed in meaningful, academically relevant college work experiences that enhance both academic and professional growth.

Student Engagement has student leadership opportunities that can help you grow as a student, mentor, and leader. Check out the positions listed below! Through these experiences, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills, be a part of fun and interactive learning, give back to the Texas Tech community, and meet other students hoping to do the same.

Transfer Ambassadors

Transfer Ambassadors

Transfer Ambassadors support transfer students and help facilitate the transfer process before, during, and after Red Raider Orientation. The ideal Transfer Ambassador understands the unique needs of transfer students and is committed to helping new transfer students make a smooth transition from their transferring institution to life on campus at Texas Tech.  Transfer Ambassadors work RRO Sessions over the summer and serve as mentors during Transfer Welcome Week and the Transfer Leadership Connection Retreat.

Tech Leadership Institute Peer Mentors

TLI Peer Mentors

The Tech Leadership Institute Mentors serve as support and guides to the TLI participants. TLI Mentors are selected on the basis of their leadership both in and out of the classroom, are graduates of the program, and showed a great ability to be role models for the next class of First-Year mentees.

Special Operations Staff (SOS)

Members of Student Engagement Student Leader Groups can keep working during the year as a member of the Special Operations Staff (SOS) throughout the academic year! SOS help us put on our big events throughout the year and supports our department through marketing events, handling day-of event logistics, connecting with students, and more.
