Over ten thousand performances have taken place in the facility.

The theatre operates year-round and offers a charming space to present performances such as concerts, dance performances, movies, and plays. It is an excellent venue for lectures and multimedia presentations.

The Allen Theatre is made up of one performance space. It is a proscenium style auditorium with 936 seats. The theatre has good acoustics and sight lines. It is easily accessible and ADA compliant.

On September 25, 1985, the Center Theatre was dedicated and renamed, the Allen Theatre, in honor of the visionary James G. Allen.
