Texas Tech University Statement Regarding Title IX Announcement by Department of Education
September 25, 2017
Texas Tech University is resolute in its commitment to fostering a safe and secure campus environment void of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, sexual harassment and discrimination.
On Friday (September 22), the Department of Education withdrew previous guidelines relating to Title IX discrimination and provided temporary recommendations for handling future cases. We will continue to monitor information at the federal level and ascertain its impact on our current processes.
At this time, Texas Tech's approach to managing Title IX cases is unaffected by the recent announcement, and we will continue provide access through reporting tools and support services to those affected by sexual misconduct and/or discrimination.
Members of the Texas Tech community are encouraged to report complaints of potential Title IX violations to one of the following Title IX Officers:
Students | Dr. Kimberly Simón, Title IX Administrator, email@example.com, (806)834-1949

Intercollegiate Athletics | Dr. Judi Henry, Sr. Woman Administrator, email@example.com, (806)834-0976
