Election Process
Elections for ChEGSA positions are around the corner!
All students who have been part of the department for at least one year can apply.
Right below you can nominate yourself or a fellow chemical engineer graduate student
for a ChEGSA commitee position.
- Nominations will be accepted throughout the month of June, 2026.
- Polls will be opened from the 1st to the 8th of July, 2026.

Positions
Below are the main duties that each position is in charge of. You can read more in the ChEGSA constitution here.
President:
- Leader of the organization, providing guidance, direction, and motivation.
- Collaborate with officers to set goals and develop a strategic plan.
- Primary contact between the organization and external entities.
Vice President:
- Assist the president and assume duties in their absence.
- Encourage member engagement and address concerns.
- Enhance overall member satisfaction.
Treasurer:
- Oversee finances, create and manage the budget, and ensure transparent fund use.
- Handle financial transactions and maintain account records.
- Communicate with funding agencies.
Secretary:
- Organize and schedule meetings, ensuring productivity and focus.
- Keep records of important documents and membership lists.
- Ensure records are accessible and organized.
Event Organizer:
- Develop event ideas and concepts with members.
- Plan and execute events, coordinating with vendors and managing logistics.
- Promote events through a marketing strategy.
Webmaster:
- Design and develop the organization's website.
- Promote activities and achievements via social media and newsletters.
- Maintain the organization's online presence.
