
About Heather
Heather Sherrill is passionate about creating opportunities that inspire students to see themselves as future engineers, innovators, and problem-solvers.
As Director of Outreach & Engagement for the Whitacre College of Engineering at Texas Tech University, she leads programs that connect K–12 students and educators across West Texas and the Panhandle with hands-on experiences in engineering, robotics, and computer science.
Heather’s work focuses on building strong partnerships between schools, communities, industry leaders, and higher education to expand access to meaningful STEM opportunities. From robotics competitions and outreach programs to research internships and educator support, she is dedicated to helping students discover confidence, curiosity, and excitement in STEM fields.
Before joining Texas Tech, Heather spent over a decade serving students and educators as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, education specialist, and statewide professional development leader. She holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University and continues to advocate for innovative learning experiences that prepare students for the future.
