Federal Student Aid

Use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online application form to apply for financial aid for college or graduate school in addition to your scholarship application to be considered for need-based scholarships.

Even if you don't think you'll qualify for need-based aid, it is a good idea to apply for all types of aid by completing the FAFSA. Some scholarship awards strongly consider the information submitted on your FAFSA.

The Department of Higher Ed has altered specific dates including FAFSA is opening December 2023 and the priority deadline changed to March 15, 2024.

Scholarships

Scholarships offered through the College of Media &Communication can be found using the general Texas Tech University scholarship application form. Students are considered for general scholarships with their application for admission to Texas Tech University. To increase your chances of an academic award, please apply for admission as soon as possible. Use the ApplyTexas or Common App application for admission and scholarship consideration.Scholarship recipients are selected by a committee of college faculty and staff. - Students will receive an acceptance form when they are offered a scholarship. This form must be completed and returned to the College of Media & Communication scholarship coordinator.

Scholarship Application Deadlines

The college adheres to the same deadlines as general scholarships. The scholarship application opens annually in October and closes on February 1st. The priority scholarship application deadline is December 1 for first-year students. Applications received after this date will be considered in the order they are received.
