Oluwatola Ibukun Adedeji joined the Texas Coalition for Sustainable Integrated Systems Research Program (TeCSIS) and the Texas Alliance for Water Conservation (TAWC) at Texas Tech University as a Postdoctoral Researcher in 2025. His research focuses on precision irrigation, crop water stress assessment, and the integration of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), satellite remote sensing, and deep learning to improve water productivity and sustainable agricultural decision-making.
Oluwatola completed his Ph.D. in Plant and Soil Science at Texas Tech University, where he worked in the Crop Ecophysiology & Precision Agriculture Lab. His doctoral research integrated UAV and satellite imagery with advanced geospatial analytics to quantify cotton water stress and optimize water use efficiency across multiple growth stages.
Oluwatola also brings extensive professional experience in remote sensing and GIS applications from his previous roles, including serving as a Senior Research Scientist at the Nigerian Space Agency, and contributing to World Bank–supported geospatial projects focused on environmental monitoring, flood assessment, and spatial data infrastructure development. His broader research interests include precision agriculture, geospatial modeling, and sustainable water management using emerging sensor technologies and AI-based approaches.
