Akkarapon Chaiyana (Tony) recently joined as a post-doctoral researcher. He completed his Ph.D. in Remote Sensing and GIS at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, where he contributed significantly to advancing the applications of geospatial technologies in agriculture, ecological mapping, and resource management. His expertise encompasses leveraging machine learning, deep learning, and big data analytics for environmental monitoring and sustainable development.

His role focuses on enhancing water conservation and agricultural sustainability by utilizing advanced technologies like soil sensors, satellite imagery, and AI. Key efforts include improving water productivity, monitoring soil moisture, optimizing irrigation, and assessing crop performance under varying conditions, while contributing to high-impact research and innovative tools for sustainable agriculture.
