Josh Massey serves as Research Associate for the TeCSIS-TAWC (Texas Coalition for Sustainable Integrated System Research and the Texas Alliance for Water Conservation) research program. He received his M.S. in Agronomy from Kansas State University and his Ph.D. in Plant and Soil Sciences (Soil Science) in 2020 from Oklahoma State University.
In this role, Dr. Massey works within the research team to manage sorghum experiments, establishment of long-term cotton-sorghum rotations, to collaborate with TAWC and its cooperating producers in climate smart commodities and resource use, data analysis and interpretation with TAWC and Agricultural Economics colleagues and works with graduate students and post-doctoral fellows in the program.
Dr. Massey joined Texas Tech University in 2023. Prior to TTU, he served as Senior Station Superintendent at Cimarron Valley Research Station and Research Program Manager of the Field & Research Service Unit, both positions within Ag Research at Oklahoma State University. While at Cimarron Valley, Dr. Massey worked with researchers in many different disciplines to establish field trials, including Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, Plant and Soil Science, Entomology and Plant Pathology, Animal Science, Geology and Botany.
