Tatsaneewan Phoesri – or "TP" – joined Texas Tech University as a Postdoctoral Researcher in 2026. Her research focuses on water and agriculture systems in the Texas High Plains, integrating satellite remote sensing, climate data, and machine learning to support sustainable groundwater management and “right crop–right water–right place” decision-making under changing climate conditions.
TP completed her Ph.D. in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems at the Asian Institute of Technology. Her doctoral research investigated long-term spatial and temporal dynamics of lake surface water extent across Southeast Asia, combining Landsat-based datasets with climate reanalysis (ERA5-Land) and bias-corrected CMIP6 projections. She developed machine learning models to predict historical and future lake water dynamics under multiple climate scenarios.
She also brings strong experience in geospatial modeling, climate data analysis, and environmental monitoring, with a particular focus on linking hydrological processes with climate variability. Her broader research interests include remote sensing of water resources, climate change impacts, and the application of data-driven approaches to support sustainable water and agricultural management.
