Edwar Escalante
Research Assistant Professor
Edwar Escalante is a research assistant professor at the Free Market Institute and an assistant professor of economics at the Norris-Vincent College of Business at Angelo State University.
Edwar's research interests include development economics and political economy. His research focuses on institutional responses to violence from individuals, communities, and countries, particularly as they relate to security and development policies. He has authored peer-reviewed scholarly articles published in Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Journal of Institutional Economics, Latin American Research Review, and Terrorism and Political Violence.
Edwar earned his Ph.D. in agricultural and applied economics from Texas Tech University in May 2019 and joined Angelo State in September of that year. At Angelo State, he teaches undergraduate courses in Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, International Economics, Development Economics, and Quantitative Methods for Social Sciences.
