Institute for Sustainability and Circular Economy

Welcome to the Institute for Sustainabilty and Circular Economy (ISCE). We are committed to creating sustainable solutions while solving some of the worlds greatest problems. Our research focuses on developing lasting sustainability across the United States and changing the US from a cycle of pollution to a sustainable circular economy.

ISCE serves as a university-wide platform that catalyzes sustainable solutions via an engineered-system approach. Simaltaneuosly, ISCE connects TTU academic units, centers, and programs that address topics related to sustainability.

We proudly boast a multi-disciplinary approach to sustainabilty, because the answer to lasting sustainabilty is collaborative and multifacted. We are a group of TTU researchers, staff, and students who are working together toward the common goal of a sustainable circular economy. The Institute is headquarted in the Maddox Engineering Research Center, but has labratories and faculty across campus in a multitude of disciplines from Chemical Engineering to Plant & Soil Science to the Center for Water Law & Policy.

Technologies developed by ISCE will integrate nanotechnology, electrochemical science, and data science for modularity, synthesis and separations. The goal of these technologies is to resolve economic pressures, logistics issues, public and industry acceptance, as well as regulatory and safety issues. ISCE will train the next generation of engineers and technical workforce at the intersection of engineering, agricultural sciences, and environmental science with the skills to advance sustainability and the circular economy.
