Dr. João Paulo Dias and Ozhan Gecgel Visit Brazil Universities and attend IFToMM Conference

Dr. Dias and Mr. Ozhan Gecgel attended the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM) held in Rio de Janeiro. While in Rio, they also lectured at the Rio de Janeiro State University (in Portuguese: UERJ) to the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Dr. Dias followed his Brazilian visit to the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) and University of Campinas (UNICAMP) aiming to develop scientific and technological cooperation between researchers from Texas Tech University and these Brazilian Universities.

 

Dr. Dias presented in the 10th IFToMM International Conference on Rotordynamics;

"Machine Learning in Crack Size Estimation of a Spur Gear Pair Using Simulated Vibration Data". This work is a part of Mr. Gecgel's PhD dissertation on condition monitoring of wind turbine gearbox.

Ozhan Gecgel presented in Rio State University (UERJ);

Dr. Dias presented in Rio State University (UERJ);

Dr. Dias presented in University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM);

"Wind Energy: Current Research and Future Opportunities at Texas Tech University"
