On Monday, March 25 at approximately 1300 hours, about 30 members of the Lubbock location of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Texas Tech University gathered at the Lubbock Police Department. OLLI members were then escorted upstairs where Lubbock Police Chief Greg Stevens greeted the enthusiastic participants of the Spring 2019 "A Look at the Lubbock Police Department" OLLI class.

While everyone was present in the second-floor auditorium, Chief Stevens offered participants information on the future of the Lubbock Police Department and developments regarding substations of the LPD. Upon departing from the auditorium, OLLI participants were then taken on a tour of the building. The tour included a stop in the evidence lab where attendees learned about how evidence is processed and stored during an active case. Their final stop was to the 9-1-1 dispatch call center where participants were able to watch 9-1-1 dispatchers in action and learned more about the history of the call center and how it operates during city wide emergencies. Many in attendance said that they found the experience "Excellent!" and "Impressive!" Other participants remarked that Chief Stevens was "very informative" and that they were pleased with everyone they came in contact with during the last of the Keeping You Safe Series with OLLI.
