About Lubbock and Shelby & Tina

The OLLI Lubbock offices are located in the Texas Tech Plaza building, which is adjacent to the university on the corner of 19th Street and University. We are also very fortunate to have classroom and meeting spaces located in the building as well. The top floor of the Texas Tech Plaza houses Skyviews restaurant, an almost entirely student-run fine dining restaurant that provides an excellent location for lunch Table Talk classes or evening wine tasting and film classes.

OLLI Director, Shelby Crews, says of the new OLLI location, "This space has been a dream come true for our OLLI members! For years, OLLI has had to pay to rent spaces to hold classes and now, with the provided classroom space, we can focus on providing additional educational opportunities for our members and not be worried about how much it will cost us to rent the space. If you are ever out and about, drop by and see the space. The offices are beautiful and provide Tina and I a bit more privacy than our previous location."

Tina Crowson is the OLLI Coordinator for Lubbock. She has been on staff for a little more than two years and is the glue that keeps OLLI together. She handles all the class and member registrations and manages the bulk of the finances for all of the OLLI locations. When she is not working to keep the OLLI machine running, she enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband, Wade, have five beautiful children – Angela, Audrey, Kayla, Colin, and their daughter Christel and her husband Casey.

OLLI Director Shelby Crews has been on board for a little more than three years and she oversees the OLLI affiliates in Lubbock, Abilene, Highland Lakes and Fredericksburg. She and her husband, Christler, have three sons – Nicholas, Harrison and Benjamin.
