About OLLI at TTU, Fredericksburg and Alice Boyd

The OLLI at Texas Tech University, Fredericksburg office is located in the Computer Lab, Room 124, in the Hill Country University Center (HCUC). We share the HCUC with the Texas Tech University Higher Education Teaching Site at Fredericksburg and Central Texas College Fredericksburg. Here students can pursue dual credit; associate, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees; and continuing education for lifelong learners age 50 and over. OLLI Fredericksburg provides 20 to 25 courses per semester in a wide array of topics for its members. From brewery tours to current events and healthcare, OLLI at Texas Tech University, Fredericksburg has something for everyone. Most of our classes are held in room 125, with larger ones in the H.E.B. Room.

Alice Boyd joined the OLLI team as the first local staff member in the Hill Country on May 26, 2015, as the Fredericksburg Coordinator. Growing up in Sunrise Beach and attending school in Llano, her goal was to return to the Hill Country after traveling the world with her husband of 43 years. Upon his retirement from the United States Air Force and the Department of Defense, they moved to Fredericksburg. They have three sons, one daughter, four granddaughters and three grandsons, so far. She has one dog, one cat, six ducks, nine ducklings and over 40 chickens of various ages. Boyd doesn't get many chances to scuba dive or rappel off a cliff anymore but has many other interests including sewing, painting, greeting cards, jewelry making, crafts of all kinds, and reading a good book on the porch.
