The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Texas Tech University, Highland Lakes, is hosting another joint presentation with Baylor Scott and White Medical Center – Marble Falls. On Wednesday, Nov. 4, Dr. Douglas Patch, an orthopedic surgeon who provides care for orthopedic conditions at Baylor Scott and White, will be joining us to discuss Joint Education 101. During this class, topics will include possible reasons for hip and knee pain, how the hip and knee work, and pain management plans. Dr. Patch will share his philosophy concerning hip and knee pain in both men and women. Throughout his 20-year career, he has specialized in hip and knee replacement surgery. He has professional memberships with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. Dr. Patch will offer advice on conservative treatments and will touch on joint education for hip and knee replacement including post-operative rehabilitation.
