Plant Form: mutli-stemmed large shrub
Height: 10 - 12 feet tall
Foliage: opposite, simple, oblong, ovate to elliptic, and semi-deciduous

glossy green and waxy on upper surface, tomentose (matted, soft hairs) and brown underneath

up to 3" long with small serrated margins

may get red fall color
Flower: cyme of very fragrant, white, snowball-shaped inflorescence up to 4" in diameter
Bloom Period: mid-Spring for up to 3 weeks
Fruit: green drupe in late Summer; turns red to black drupe in Fall / Winter
   
Environment  
   
Soil: requires slightly moist, well-drained soil

can handle alkaline soils and poor conditions
USDA Zone: zones 5 - 8
