Institute for Studies in Pragmaticism

Science does not advance by revolutions, warfare, and cataclysms, but by cooperation, by each researcher’s taking advantage of his predecessors’ achievements, and by his joining his own work in one continuous piece to that already done. - C.S. Peirce

Our Institute mourns the loss of its devoted member and former Associate Director, Dr. Clyde Hendrick, P. W. Horn Distinguished Professor. Clyde was a bright and critical mind, a gifted scholar who loved exploring new questions in new territories. We will cherish his academic legacy and passion for scientific truth in his home Institute. The Institute for Studies in Pragmaticism is deeply grateful for Dr. Hendrick's membership service, scholarly collaboration, and book collection donation. He will always be an essential part of our institutional memory.
