About SI

What is SI?

Supplemental Instruction (SI) provides a unique peer-to-peer learning experience in an interactive group environment called SI Sessions. The SI Sessions are regularly scheduled review sessions led by SI Leaders (undergraduate students) who have previously earned an A in the course. SI Leaders are trained on facilitation strategies, learning strategies and collaborative learning techniques to encourage student to student interaction. Students enrolled in a course where SI is offered will receive a weekly e-mail from your SI Leader(s) with session information.

FAQ's

Who can use Supplemental Instruction?

All Students currently enrolled in an SI available course can attend Sessions. SI is available for historically difficult classes, check the SI Courses tab for a list of our currently available courses.

How do I know Where, When and What Time my Session is?

All Students enrolled in an SI available course will receive an email each week from their SI Leader with the Location, Time, and Date for their Sessions for the next week. If you are enrolled in an SI Course, but not receiving a weekly email please email si.soar@ttu.edu.

Where are SI Sessions held?

SI Sessions are held On-Campus in lecture halls, SI Leaders include location information for their Sessions in their Weekly Emails.

How often can I utilize SI Sessions?

You can attend as many Sessions as you would like. Some students attend multiple Sessions from different courses each week.

What should I bring to an SI Session?

We strongly recommend Students bring any lecture notes or materials needed to help them in the class. You also will need an electronic device to download the Packet for the Session.
