RESEARCH  &  AWARDS

PSS researchers receive competitive USDA grant

A 3-year, $500,000 USDA-NIFA AFRI grant was awarded to PSS's Lindsey Slaughter, Charles West, Sanjit Deb, and Veronica Acosta-Martinez of the USDA-ARS Cropping Systems Research Laboratory for their research proposal titled "Harnessing soil health to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions in semi-arid pasture ecosystems". The grant supports research at the crossroads of water scarcity, soil health, climate, meat production, and economic viability of the Texas High Plains. It seeks to answer questions on the subtle effects of soil microbes on controlling the absorption and release of greenhouse gases from pasture soils.    READ MORE »

Tran ranks among the world’s most cited researchers

Lam-Son Phan Tran has been named among the world's most highly cited researchers for 2020 according to the annual list compiled by Clarivate Analytics. The highly anticipated list identifies researchers who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade. Recognition as a highly cited researcher requires multiple papers that rank in the top 1% each year, making it an elite honor.    READ MORE »
