Mark of the Matador

The Mark of the Matador is a distinction awarded to our highest achieving Scholars in the Legacy TrUE Scholars pathway. Mark of the Matador recipients are recognized at a ceremony where they receive a pin to wear with their graduation regalia to celebrate their achievement.

The Mark of the Matador Promise: Texas Tech students who graduate with the Mark of the Matador and subsequently enroll in a graduate research program at Texas Tech University receive a special scholarship award during their first Fall semester of graduate studies.

Path to the Mark of the Matador

Legacy Research Scholars: Legacy Research Scholars receive the Mark of the Matador by completing at least one year of faculty-led undergraduate research as a Legacy Research Scholar Matador.
