TTU Writing Center Outstanding Abstract Award
We encourage every TTU student participating in URC 2025 to connect with the TTU Undergraduate Writing Center for support as they prepare their abstract! Read the special message from TTU Undergraduate Writing Center Director Tracy Givens below to learn how getting extra help on you abstract could also help you win an award!
The Undergraduate Writing Center is excited to announce the 5th Annual Undergraduate Writing Center Abstract Award in partnership with the Undergraduate Research Conference.
Award Scholarships: First place—$150.00; Second place—$100; Third place—$50
Before submitting to the abstract competition, applicants must have at least one writing consultation with the Undergraduate Writing Center to discuss the abstract. If you have any quesitons about the competition, please contact the Undergraduate Writing Center.
At the Undergraduate Writing Center, we help students from all majors devleop their writing skills in a supportive environment. In one-to-one consultations, our trained consultants read and respond to any writing project at any stage of the process. They collaborate with writers to address sentence-level issues as well as global issues involving focus, organization, and development. We offer onsite, online synchronous, and online asynchronous consultations.
This spring, in addition to Weeks Hall, we are also offering onsite consultations in the University Libraries Research Hub (room 132), the Architecture Library, and Holden Hall (room 203). Visit our website for more information about these additional locations or to schedule an appointment for a writing consultation.
