Walker Receives Academic Honor

Walker, a business major from Pflugerville, maintains a 3.51 GPA while playing wide receiver for the Red Raiders.
Texas Tech inside receiver Grant Walker of Pflugerville has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI football team.
Student-athletes with grade point averages above 3.2 qualify for the ballot, which is voted upon by sports information directors across the country. Walker is now eligible for Academic All-America voting.
The senior business management major boasts a 3.51 grade point average and was selected to one of two receiver slots on the first team. Walker transferred to Texas Tech in 2005 from Purdue University, where he was an all-academic performer for the Boilermakers.
