Matt Roe was born and in Baltimore, MD and raised in Lubbock, TX. He received his BS in Microbiology at Texas Tech University in 1999, and a master's degree from Texas A&M in 2002. Matt spent a year in the food industry serving as Manager of Quality Assurance and Quality Control in Houston, TX, before returning to Texas Tech as a Laboratory Safety Specialist in the Department of Environmental Health and Safety in 2004. Matt has held many positions in Environmental Health and Safety for the department including Manager of Environmental Compliance and Manager of Occupational Safety.  Matt completed and received his Certified Hazardous Materials Manager certification in 2008 and his Certified Industrial Hygienist certification in 2013. Matt is currently studying for his PhD in Environmental Toxicology within the Department of Environmental Toxicology.
