Updates to EHS Services
In response to TTU's COVID-19 modified work requirements, Environmental Health & Safety will be operating with reduced on-campus staff. Going forward, all hazardous waste pick-ups (prioritized by risk) will occur on Wednesdays from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Additional pick up days will be added as needed.
Chemical deliveries to academic work areas have resumed.

New Biological Safety Section
The Department of Environmental Health & Safety is excited to announce the initiation of a Biological Safety Section within the department. Rebecca (Becky) Maloney will serve as the Biological Safety Unit Manager and Biological Safety Officer of the University. Becky has been with EHS for five years and Texas Tech University for a decade. She has helped make vast improvements to the Biological Safety Manual, proceedings of the Institutional Biosafety Committee, identification of biological laboratories and jump start the department's outreach initiatives.
The Biological Safety Section will be responsible for biological safety and security issues on campus including coordinating the Institutional Biosafety Committee. Becky can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org for any biological safety needs.
