The City of Lubbock Health Department has confirmed mosquitoes carrying West Nile
virus in the Lubbock area. People over 50 and those with other health issues have
a higher risk of becoming seriously ill; most recover on their own.
Symptoms include headache, fever, muscle and joint aches, nausea and fatigue. Take
steps to protect yourself from bites including using an EPA registered insect repellent
