Lock Out/Tag Out

Failure to control hazardous energy during servicing or maintenance activities accounts for nearly 10 percent of the serious accidents in many industries, according to OSHA. Proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices and procedures safeguard workers from the release of hazardous energy.

This program consists of providing training to affected employees in means of controlling hazardous energy using energy-isolating devices and lockout devices before servicing or maintenance. A review of the procedures and requirements described under this program will be conducted annually by the affected department with oversight from EHS.
