Texas Tech University

Lab Safety Page

Lab safety at Texas Tech is vital to ensuring that the university's standards in research and teaching excellence are upheld. Lab safety personnel work with faculty and other lab personnel to create robust Work Area Safety Plans and operating procedures, with Building and Maintenance personnel to arrange for appropriate engineering controls and safety equipment installation and maintenance and with the institutional safety committees to integrate best practices into the university's safety policies.

The Lab Safety Section within the Department of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) is comprised of professionals from various disciplines to help ensure the research and teaching safety needs of the campus are met. Areas of expertise include adult education, biological and chemical safety, and lab management and practices.
