Chemical & Physical safety in laboratories at Texas Tech is vital to ensuring that the university's standards in research and teaching excellence are upheld. These safety personnel work with faculty and other lab personnel to create robust Work Area Safety Plans and operating procedures; with Building and Maintenance personnel to arrange for appropriate engineering controls and safety equipment installation and maintenance; and with the institutional laboratory safety committee to integrate best practices into the university's safety policies.
The Chemical & Physical Safety Program within the Department of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) is comprised of professionals from various disciplines to help ensure the research and teaching safety needs of the campus are met.
