General Information

Texas Tech wireless network provides enhanced mobile communications for devices such as laptops and PDA’s.  Our wireless network allows for secure connections to the Texas Tech network and the Internet. Today’s wireless technology is not as reliable as a wired network and should only be used to enhance mobile communications for laptops and PDA’s.  If you are having problems connecting the TTU Wireless Network, here are a few tips to consider:

For more information, please click on the Wireless Networks Tip below.

    1. Make sure that your wireless network adapter is properly configured.

    2. Make sure that your computer is up-to-date.

    3. Wireless networks can have many access points located in one area.  It’s possible that you may be connected to an access point that has a lower signal strength or is congested with network traffic.  Try disabling your wireless adapter and then re-enabling it.

    4. Try relocating your workspace to another location where the Texas Tech wireless network is available with a stronger signal.

    5. Texas Tech’s wireless network requires authentication before you can connect.  Make sure that your eRaider username and password are correct for your wireless configuration.

    6. Remove any preferred networks that you are no longer using.  Preferred networks are wireless networks that you have set up for your computer to connect when in range.

    7. Periodically, your wireless configuration may need reconfiguring.  Remove the old configuration and then re-create it.
