Connecting to the TTU Net Wireless Network
The instructions below are for configuring the Intel PROSet/Wireless utility to connect to TTU's Wireless Network.
It is VERY important that users install current service packs and critical updates prior to configuring your wireless connection (Microsoft Windows Update). You should also download and install the latest drivers for your wireless NIC.
- Verify that you have installed all current service packs and critical updates prior to configuring your wireless connection.
- Confirm the latest driver for your wireless NIC is installed.
- Verify that there is an Access Point in your building.
- Verify that the user has a wireless card in their desktop and/or laptop, and follow these steps:

Windows Vista Setup: Intel PROSet Wireless
- Open the Intel PROSet/Wireless utility. It should be located on
the Start bar.

- Click the Profiles button.

- Click Add.

- Now click Advanced.

- Now enter the information listed below, then click Next:
- Profile Name: TTUnet
- Wireless Network Name (SSID): TTUnet

- After it detects the Security Settings, click Next.

- Configure the "Security Settings" in "Step 1 of 2: PEAP Server" as seen
below:
- Check the "Enable 802.1x" box
- Authentication Type: PEAP
- Authentication Protocol: MS-CHAP-V2
- User Name: Your eRaider Username
- Domain: TTU
- Password: Your eRaider Password
- Roaming Identity: Your eRaider Username
- Now click Cisco Options.

Ensure that all of the following boxes are checked. Then click OK.- Allow Fast Roaming (CCKM)
- Enable Cisco Compatible Extensions
- Enable Radio Management Support
- Enable Mixed Cells Mode

- The "Security Settings" window will appear again. In "Step 2 of 2: PEAP
Server" fill out the following information and click Next:
- Uncheck "Validate Server Certificate"
- Ensure that "Specify Server or Certificate Name" is checked.
- Server or Certificate Name: ttu.edu
- Ensure "Domain name must end with the specified entry" is selected.

- Click OK.

- Your computer should now be connected to TTUnet.
