Gipsy Bocanegra, Ph.D. is the Lead Data Scientist in the Office of the Provost at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and former Senior Director of Data and Analytics at the F. Marie Hall Institute for Rural and Community Health. Gipsy has over 10 years of experience in data modeling, integration, transformation, analysis and visualization. She has expertise in managing data-related solutions and overseeing various activities, including BI analysis, data storytelling, geospatial analysis, advanced statistical modeling, survey design, data management, data governance and predictive analysis. She is passionate about leveraging data to drive organizational success with a data-centric approach. Gipsy has worked for different international organizations such as the Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) of the World Bank, the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA), and the global platform for Young Professionals for Agricultural Development (YPARD) hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Gipsy is a graduate of Icesi University (Cali-Colombia) and Texas Tech University.
