Tools and Techniques to Relax

Ways to Reduce Stress

  • Exercise several times a week to burn off anxious energy
  • Eat well-balanced nutritional meals and avoid processed foods
  • Keep a regular sleep schedule by going to bed at the same time each night, waking at approximately the same time, and ensuring at least 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep
  • Take a long bath or shower
  • Read an enjoyable book or flip through a favorite magazine
  • Listen to relaxing music
  • Plan time with friends or family
  • Take a pet for a walk
  • Schedule a massage
  • Take a yoga/meditation class
