Student Disability Services (SDS) Scholarships

Clyde and Ouida Black Scholarship

The Clyde and Ouida Black Scholarship is awarded annually to a student(s) who is hard of hearing and has implants or an assisted listening device such as an FM system or hearing aids. The student(s) must also be able to communicate orally. Priority is given to a student who is an incoming freshman or transfer student from Paris Junior College or Temple Junior College.

Olive-Pfluger Scholarship

The Olive-Pfluger Scholarship is awarded annually to a student(s) with a documented learning disability such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, specific learning disabilities in math, reading, or writing, and/or oral/written language disorders, or AD/HD or Autism.

Solcher Family Scholarship

The Solcher Family Scholarship is awarded annually to a student(s) with a hearing impairment.

Alex C. Watkins Memorial Scholarship

The Alex C. Watkins Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to one student who is registered with Student Disability Services.

Guy and Elwanda Phillippe Scholarship

The Guy and Elwanda Phillippe Scholarship is awarded annually to one student with a documented learning disability such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, specific learning disabilities in math, reading and/or writing, oral/written language disorders, or AD/HD or Autism. Priority is given to a TECHniques Center student.

TECHniques Center Scholarships

Jeanne Rau Cumbie Scholarship

The Jeanne Rau Cumbie Scholarship was established by Mr. Jay Cumbie in 2020 as a tribute to his late wife. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student(s) who is currently enrolled and in good standing with the TECHniques Center program at the time of application.

Connally S. Wheat Scholarship

The Connally S. Wheat Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a TECHniques Center student(s). The purpose of this scholarship is to make the specialized support of the TECHniques Center available to a student(s) who is currently enrolled and in good standing with the TECHniques Center program at the time of application.

David R. and Brenda Hughes Nelson Scholarship

The David R. and Brenda Hughes Nelson Scholarship is awarded annually to a student(s) who is currently enrolled and in good standing with the TECHniques Center program at the time of application. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist in financing the TECHniques Center for a qualified student(s). Financial need will be taken into consideration.

Jack T. Grant Memorial Scholarship

The Jack T. Grant Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a TECHniques Center student(s) who is currently enrolled and in good standing with the TECHniques Center program at the time of application.

TECHniques Center Endowed Scholarship

The TECHnique Center Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually to a TECHniques Center student(s). The purpose of this scholarship is to provide assistance to help finance all or a portion of the fee for a student enrolled in the TECHniques Center. Eligible students must: (1) be a currently enrolled student in Good Standing with the TECHniques Center program at the time of application for this scholarship; (2) utilize Standard or Expanded services; and (3) be enrolled in the TECHniques Center for Standard or Expanded services the academic year for which this scholarship will be awarded. Students must also maintain good standing with the TECHniques Center for the duration of the scholarship. Incoming freshman and students receiving Limited services are not eligible to receive this scholarship.
