Khondoker Mottaleb (Kam) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural
and Applied Economics at Texas Tech University. His research focuses on household
economics, international trade and development economics, focusing on price linkages
in the global commodity markets as well as smallholders decision-making process under
risk and uncertainty. In his research, Dr. Khondoker applies a combination of quantitative
and nonparametric approaches in a machine learning environment Dr. Khondoker is an
expert in ex-ante impact assessments.
Before joining Texas Tech, Dr. Khondoker was a Research Scientist at the University
of Arkansas, Fayetteville Arkansas USA. He previously worked with the International
Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), Mexico, International Rice Research Institute
(IRRI), Philippines, and the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS),
Tokyo, Japan. He holds a bachelors and masters degree in economics from the University
of Rajshahi, Bangladesh, and an MA and Ph.D. in International Development Studies
from GRIPS, Tokyo, Japan.
