Dr. Martin's research interests focus on the intersection of philosophy, politics and economics, focusing on economic development, entrepreneurship, and the role of institutions in shaping political and economic outcomes.

He is a Political Economy Research Fellow at the Free Market Institute, a member of the Board Scholars for the Foundation for Economic Education, and judge for the Carl Menger Essay Contest for the Society for the Development of Austrian Economics, an undergraduate essay competition he co-founded.
