Ace: Association of Competitive Engineers at Texas Tech University
Engineering Excellence Through Competition

Welcome to the Association of Competitive Engineers (ACE), a student organization at Texas Tech University dedicated to developing engineering talent through outreach, competition, education, and applied robotics research. With more than 35 members, eight student-led combat robotics teams, and a dedicated lab at the Reese Technology Center, ACE provides opportunities to gain hands-on experience in design, manufacturing, programming, and engineering problem-solving. Through competitions, workshops, collaborative projects, and industry partnerships, students can put their engineering knowledge into practice.

Combat Robotics at ACE

From concept to competition, ACE Combat Robotics gives students the opportunity to design, build, test, and improve their own combat robots. Through student-led teams, members gain practical experience in CAD, manufacturing, electronics, programming, and engineering design while learning to balance performance, reliability, weight, and cost.

With eight student-led teams, regular teaching nights, and hands-on lab sessions, ACE welcomes students at different experience levels. Teams put their designs to the test through Fight Night events and prepare for external robotics competitions.

Upcoming Events:
ACE Fight Night: November 14, 2026
RoboCup: December 12–14, 2026
