Administration Building Tower Through collaboration and coordination with campus partners, the Data Management Division will support all areas of Texas Tech University with the development, execution, and supervision of plans, policies, programs, and practices that deliver, control, protect, and enhance the value of data and information assets throughout their lifecycles.

Goals

  • Understanding and supporting the information needs of the university and its stakeholders.
  • Capturing, storing, protecting, and ensuring the integrity of data assets managed by the division.
  • Ensuring the quality of data and information produced or managed by the division.
  • Ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of data produced or managed by the division.
  • Preventing unauthorized or inappropriate access, manipulation, or use of data and information produced or managed by the division.
  • Ensuring data produced by the division can be used efficiently and effectively to add value to the university.
  • Promoting Data Management best practices and requirements through the Data Governance Board and Data Stewardship Council to reduce risk and increase the value add of data assets.
