Counselor Education Program Overview

Counselor Education (EPCE) is a graduate academic program in the Department of Educational Psychology and Leadership in the College of Education. This program provides training for school counselors, clinical mental health counselors, counselor educators, and supervisors. These counselors are well prepared to enter the counseling profession.

The faculty and students subscribe to the ethical standards and values recognized by the counseling profession, the American Counseling Association (ACA), the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), the American School Counseling Association (ASCA), and other counseling groups/associations.

The Counseling programs at Texas Tech University are nationally accredited by CACREP (Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs). The Counseling programs are the only CACREP accredited programs west of Dallas and east of Albuquerque.
