Health and Safety
Health
While students are in Sevilla, they have local and international health insurance for the entirety of their stay. The health plan is very complete and covers everything except for any prescription medication they may need; however, medication tends to be much more affordable than in the United States.
If a student is feeling under the weather, they can contact the local staff who will arrange a doctors appointment. A staff member will accompany them to the appointment to help translate and support them through the process.
Safety
The local staff's number one priority is the safety of the students for the entirety of their time in Sevilla. At the pre-departure meeting in Lubbock, “Seville Night”, students get tips on safety before they go abroad. Whenever they arrive in Sevilla, during the in-country orientation, the local staff reminds them about the safety tips they learned before going abroad.
Sevilla is one of the cities in Europe with the lowest crime rate. It is a safe place to enjoy. The local staff are there to support students and if there is any safety emergency, students can contact them at any time of the day.
