Getting around Sevilla

The best way to get around Sevilla is on foot. The streets are quite flat and easy to navigate while the pedestrian city center and nice weather year-round make walking the most common way to get around Sevilla.

Although nearly all of Sevilla's most important locations are within walking distance, many convenient forms of efficient, accessible and affordable public transportation are also available.

Bus

Sevilla’s extensive bus network is safe and covers every part of the city, with 50 lines connecting the various neighborhoods to the center quickly and efficiently.

Tussam is the company that manages public transportation in Seville. Most buses run from around 6am until 11:30pm, and there are also some night buses operating from 12 a.m. to 2a.m. on weekdays and until 5:00 a.m. on weekends.

A one-way ticket costs 1.40€, but a cheaper option is a bus pass, with each single ride costing just 69 cents. All students receive a bus pass preloaded with thirty euros that will cover most of their travel needs during their stay, with the option to a second buss pass if they live further away from the TTU Sevilla Center.  This prepaid, contactless, and rechargeable public transport card is called a Bonobús.

Sevilla Tram

Known as Metrocentro, the Sevilla tram is also managed by Tussam. Both services -bus and tram- have the same fares and timetable. The tram has only one line and leaves from Plaza Nueva, where the City Hall is located, to the neighborhood of Nervión, where the Sevilla Football Club stadium can be found. The bus pass students receive is also valid with this service. The tram is the only vehicle allowed into the pedestrian area of the city, so it’s a great alternative to walking when moving around the historic center.

Sevilla Metro

Sevilla has only one metro line with 22 stations making it very easy to navigate. It covers the route from the Aljarafe (southern metropolitan area of Seville) to the public university, Pablo de Olavide, crossing the city from West to East. The bus pass can also be used with this service.

Sevici

Sevilla is an ideal city for bicycles due to its flat terrain and good weather year-round. There are more than 77 km of bicycle lanes that connect the various neighborhoods and 263 bicycle rental stations throughout the city.

The public bike rental service, SEVICI, is accessible and affordable with two membership options:
1-. Annual Pass: 33,33 euros (39,33 euros with insurance)
2-. Weekly Pass: 13,33 euros (14,33 euros with insurance)

The first 30 minutes are free per ride in both options, and then you pay as you go. You can pick up and return bikes to any station within the system.

To use the service, it is necessary to sign up either through the website or via the smartphone app.

Taxi

Taxi services are available 24 hours a day and are the most recommended means of transportation for travelling at night when the bus service is not available. Taxis in Sevilla are white with a yellow stripe on the side featuring the city's coat of arms. You don’t need to go to a taxi stop to use the service, you can hail them on the street when they have a green light showing. The fares are regulated, and a ride home will normally cost five to ten euros. There is a flat rate for trips from the airport to the city or vice versa called "Tarifa Única Aeropuerto". This rate, which ranges from 25 to 35 euros depending on the day of the week or time of the year, does not have extra charges for supplements, like the number of suitcases you may have.

If there are no taxis available, or if you need to reserve a service in advance, you can call any of the taxi companies in Sevilla. These are two main taxi companies in Sevilla:
Radio Taxi Sevilla: 954 580 000
Tele Taxi: 954 622 222

You can also download FreeNow app which is the app that you can also book taxis from.

Uber, Cabify and Bolt

There are other ride-service companies in Spain that offer door-to-door transportation such as Uber, Cabify and Bolt. Their services can be reserved through their apps.
