Dr. Mota's research agenda focuses on the non-invasive assessment of muscle function across the lifespan and between the sexes. Current research projects in his laboratory are investigating the relationship between chronic health conditions and musculoskeletal injury risk in occupational athletes (e.g., firefighters and law enforcement officers). Additionally, recent works have aimed to reveal the neuromuscular mechanisms which drive adaptations from resistance exercise.
