General Information

How can I get access to Curriculog?

To access Curriculog, first email officialpubs.curriculog@ttu.edu requesting training, and our Curriculog Support Team will send more information. Please indicate if you are a department chairperson, college dean, or other university official completing training due to a role change.

This training is intended for those who are responsible for submitting and/or approving a course or program proposal. It will cover all information regarding utilizing the Curriculog software for adding, updating, or deleting courses or programs within the Texas Tech inventory. All users must complete training to log in to the system. Additional training for approval workflows and agenda administration is available.

How can I change my email notification preferences?

The current setting for the email notifications in Curriculog is that users will receive a daily email digest. Users are currently able to modify this for their own account by navigating to the Accounts Module, selecting their account, selecting "All Emails" from the "Email Options" dropdown menu, then clicking the "Save Preferences" button.


  • Originators: We suggest changing the email settings to receive "All Emails" rather than using the daily digest.
  • All other users (Agenda Administrators, Deans and Faculty, Committee Members): We suggest you keep the daily digest as your default notification settings to limit the amount of email traffic you will receive.

How can I see who can approve course and program changes?

Curriculog defines user roles and group memberships as a hierarchy. Please contact officialpubs.curriculog@ttu.edu for more information.

What is Acalog?

Acalog ACMS™ is designed to allow you to manage data in one catalog at a time. Acalog directly integrates with the Curriculog system, so course and program changes are always reflected in the online catalog.

Only authorized users may access this resource.  The current TTU online catalog is housed in this system and is available for review at http://catalog.ttu.edu.

Core Curriculum

How do I find out what kinds of courses are already in the core curriculum?

Can I submit any course for the core curriculum?

The course should be a 1000- or 2000-level course. Requests for higher-level courses are strongly discouraged and must be accompanied by a justification that explains why a lower-level course cannot be substituted for the upper-level one. The course must be designed for any student to take as part of his or her general university education (as opposed to courses designed primarily for a major or specialization). Please note that the THECB strongly discourages the inclusion of upper level courses in the core.

Can my course have prerequisites?

The course must not have any prerequisites unless there is a clear sequence of courses in the component area such as MATH 1300 and Math 2300 or CHEM 1307 and CHEM 1308. In the case of sequenced courses, both courses must be submitted together and approved concurrently. The prerequisite relationship must be stated clearly (i.e., course A must be completed before a student may enroll in course B).
