Politics and the Media: Intersections and New Directions
Media analyst and author Jane Hall explores with us how media technologies, practices, and formats shape political decision making; how political forces influence media institutions; and how public opinion and audiences are formed.
Jane Hall is an associate professor in the School of Communication at American University in Washington, D.C. She was media correspondent for the Los Angeles Times for nine years. A former media commentator for Fox News, she has regularly appeared as a media expert on CNN′s media-analysis program “Reliable Sources” as well as “PBS NewsHour,” MSNBC, C-SPAN and other networks. A native of Abilene, Hall earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her master's from Columbia.
