Appointments & Notary Services
Student Legal Services meets with eligible students by appointment for legal consultation and limited representation. Review the legal topics below to determine which category best matches your situation, then complete the intake form to begin the scheduling process.
After completing the intake form, you will receive an email with a link to select an available appointment time. Attorney appointments are generally scheduled Monday through Thursday.

Landlord, Tenant & Real Estate
Lease questions, security deposits, repairs, landlord disputes, housing-related concerns and other real estate matters.
Criminal Defense
Misdemeanor charges, citations and other criminal matters that fall within the scope of Student Legal Services.
Expunction & Nondisclosure
Questions about expunctions, orders of nondisclosure and whether certain criminal records may qualify for restricted access.
Immigration
Immigration-related legal questions. Student Legal Services generally provides consultation only in this area.
Powers of Attorney & Wills
Estate planning, wills, powers of attorney and related legal documents.
Automotive
Vehicle purchases, repairs, accidents, insurance claims and other automotive-related legal questions.
Consumer Rights, Debt & Loans
Consumer disputes, debt claims, loans and other consumer-related legal matters.

Questions involving divorce, custody, child support and other family law matters. The level of assistance available depends on the type of case.

Appointment Information
Attorney Appointments
Appointments are required to meet with an attorney. Walk-in attorney consultations are not available.
Attorney appointments are generally available Monday through Thursday between 9 and 11 a.m. and 1:30 and 4 p.m.
In-Person & Virtual Appointments
Appointments are generally held in person at Student Legal Services.
If you need a virtual appointment, call the office at 1 (806) 742-3289 before scheduling.
Notary Services
Student Legal Services provides notary services for eligible students. Whether you need an appointment depends on the number and type of documents you need notarized.
Walk-In Notary Services
If you have only one or two standard documents, you generally do not need an appointment.
Walk-in notary services are available from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
When an Appointment Is Required
Call the office to schedule a notary appointment if you have numerous documents. Call (806)742-3289 to schedule a notary appointment.
Immigration documents and documents originating outside the United States require an appointment regardless of the number of documents.
What to Bring
Bring the document unsigned. The notary must generally witness your signature.
You must also bring a current physical government-issued photo ID. Student ID cards are not accepted for notarization.
Powers of Attorney
Student Legal Services cannot notarize powers of attorney that were not prepared by Student Legal Services attorneys.
If you need assistance preparing a power of attorney, schedule an attorney appointment first.
